AS9100:2009 - Revision C
AS9100 is an Aerospace-specific Quality Systems International Standard, which ensures that all activities are performed in a
consistent and controlled manner, such that they can be repeated to satisfy minimum business and regulatory requirements.
The aero industry is demanding firmer application of the standards by 3rd party auditors and all suppliers must therefore be
accredited to Revision C.
SC21
Over the last three years, Aero Engines have been supporting the SC21 programme. SC21 is a change programme designed to
accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains.
International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defence industrial strategy, necessitates rapid improvement
in the effectiveness of our supply chains. At the same time, industry must ensure that it delivers competitive solutions for
customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth.
Aero Engines have supported this programme by training practitioners/assessors to support development of the strategic supply
chain. This involves assessing organisations with Business Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence models along with a Relationship
tool. The goal is to provide organisations with a tried and tested framework that will continually move the organisations
forward.
